Messages to encourage, challenge, and build your faith.
Turn with me to Ephesians chapter 2, verse 10. The Bible says: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
Can I talk to somebody today?
There are seasons in life when all you're doing is trying to get through the day. Pay the bill. Solve the problem. Survive the disappointment. Wake up — do it again. And if you're not careful, that cycle will make you forget something God never wants you to forget: you were not created to merely survive. You were created to know Him. To reflect Him. To carry His purpose. To bear fruit.
Say it with me — I am His workmanship.
Not an accident. Not a mistake. Not a leftover. His workmanship — hand-crafted, on purpose, for a purpose. And this same God who made you already prepared good works in advance for you to walk in. Before you were born, He had already planned what your life would produce.
Somebody needs to hear this: your life is not random.
Jesus said it Himself, in John chapter 10, verse 10 — "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." Now hear me — that does not mean a life free of trouble. It means your identity in Christ is bigger than your trouble. Bigger than the bills. Bigger than the delay. Bigger than the disappointment.
You may be struggling today — but you are not without purpose.
You may be starting small — but your beginning does not decide your ending.
You may have failed, been rejected, been delayed — but that is not the full story of your life!
Church, there is a difference between surviving and walking in purpose. Survival only asks one question: "How do I get through this?" But purpose asks a different question — purpose asks: "Lord, what do You want to produce through my life in this season?"
That's why God doesn't always remove the hard season quickly — because He's not just trying to get you OUT of it. He's trying to build something IN you through it. He is forming you. Teaching you. Strengthening you. Preparing you.
So don't spend your whole life just trying to escape where you are. Ask God what He wants you to become in it — and what He wants you to do with it.
Here's your assignment before you leave here today. Take ten minutes. Write down three things: What am I currently surviving? What is God teaching me in this season? What can I start building, developing, or serving with — right now, today? Then don't just write it down — do one purposeful thing today.
Let's pray.
Father, thank You that my life has meaning and purpose in You. Don't let me get so consumed by my struggle that I forget my assignment. Give me grace to grow through this season, wisdom to see the opportunity in it, and courage to walk in the good works You already prepared for me. Move me, Lord, from merely surviving — to living on purpose, for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Now say this with your mouth: I was created by God, and for God's purpose. I will not let hardship, delay, fear, or disappointment write my story. I receive grace to grow, to build, to serve, and to fulfill my assignment. My life will carry meaning. My life will bear fruit. My life will bring glory to God. I am not merely surviving — I am becoming.
Before you go — ask yourself: am I living from purpose today, or am I just trying to survive? Write down one thing you believe God is calling you to build in this season. Don't just survive it. Ask Him what He wants to build in you through it.
