THE IMPORTANCE OF WALKING WITH GOD

Introduction

Beloved, walking with God is one of the greatest privileges of every believer. Many people desire God's blessings, breakthroughs, favour, and protection, but we must understand that our relationship with God is more important than the things we receive from Him.

Amos 3:3 asks, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” This teaches us that walking with God requires agreement with His will, obedience to His Word, and a heart that is willing to follow His direction.

1. Walking with God Requires Obedience

We cannot claim to walk closely with God while deliberately rejecting His instructions. Obedience demonstrates our love and trust in Him.

Jesus said in John 14:15, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

Beloved, even when God's instructions seem difficult, we must trust His wisdom. Our obedience today may lead us to the blessings and purpose He has prepared for tomorrow.

2. Walking with God Requires Faith and Trust

Proverbs 3:5–6 encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and acknowledge Him in all our ways.

Sometimes, we may not understand what God is doing in our lives. We may pray without seeing immediate answers, struggle financially, or face unexpected challenges. Nevertheless, we must not abandon our faith because of temporary difficulties.

Walking with God means trusting His character even when we cannot understand His process.

3. Walking with God Requires Consistency

Genesis 5:24 tells us that Enoch walked with God. His life reminds us that our relationship with God should not be occasional but consistent.

Beloved, do not seek God only when you need money, healing, promotion, or a breakthrough. Develop a daily relationship with Him through prayer, studying His Word, worship, and righteous living.

Consistency in your walk with God builds spiritual strength and maturity.

Conclusion

Beloved, our earthly journey may be filled with challenges, but we must never allow our struggles to separate us from God. Let us walk with Him in obedience, faith, and consistency.

Remember, the greatest achievement in life is not merely what we possess on earth, but remaining faithful to God and fulfilling His purpose for our lives.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, give me the grace to walk closely with You. Help me to obey Your Word, trust Your promises, and remain faithful even in difficult seasons. Let my life bring glory to Your name, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Declaration

I declare that I will walk with God in faith, obedience, and consistency. I will not be distracted by earthly struggles, and by His grace, I will fulfil His purpose for my life, in Jesus' name. Amen.
